The number of overseas postings by Canadian companies is increasing, getting more costly and more difficult to fill. In a conversation with Business without Borders, Stephen Cryne, president and CEO of the Canadian Employee Relocation Council (CERC), says international assignments are quickly rebounding after Canadian companies said in 2009 they expected to cut back. Of those polled in a recent CERC study, 48% said they expected such assignments to increase. Long-term assignments of one to three years will particularly increase, Cryne says.
