Gail and Dinesh Rao I am Canadian, 4th generation as you can see from my photo. I married my husband from Mumbai Feb 17/2011 after trips to India and a long term relationship. All well documented. We are in appeal for the spouse sponsorship! Circa 2003 I had to appeal a denied business visa to an exporter I had met. Travelled in France with, etc etc. The Delhi Canadian Embassy is a big barrier as is Canada Visa and Immigration rules. India gave me an X visa on marriage. I can live and work there. I had gotten before a business visa without any issues. I found the Indian Embassies easy to work with. From my experience Canada presents it's own obstacles to free trade and I am facing another one. For my marriage and our future plans to be part of the trading business and expanding out borders. My partner now is my husband. However anyone in Canada who has a business relationship with an Indian businessman risks running into the same bad situation. I know I am not the only one. Insulting a business trader and barring them to come into our country is not impressive. It also affects our tourism in Canada. Contrary to what a lot of Canadians are led to believe. Most who enter here for personal or business reasons do return home without this strong drive to settle here. My exporter friend did come to Canada and he went back to India too! So..my husband and I are moving forward with our business plans while we wait for the appeal process to begin.
