Trans Canada Turbines repairs and overhauls gas turbine engines for use by power companies around the world. Recently they ran into a major problem: an engine being shipped to the company’s main Calgary branch was held up at the Mexican border. The reason for the delay? Incorrect paperwork related to insurance requirements for moving assets out of the country. Unless action was taken quickly, the shipment could be delayed at the border for weeks – an expensive proposition. Looking for a solution, Trans-Canada turned to a surprising source.
